Ellena Giuseppe Barolo DOCG del Comune di La Morra 2020 – Country: Italy – Capacity: 0.75 Ellena Giuseppe Barolo, yes. But not just any Barolo. This one proposed by Ellena, in fact, bears on the label the name Barolo del Comune di La Morra. The centre, then, of that small world made up of prestigious wines that are born in a territory rich in facets. Each hillock, each ridge, has different soils and different exposures that allow the Nebbiolo grapes, the only one allowed by the regulations, to ripen in different ways and develop unique aromas and scents. Vigneto Ascheri, about one hectare, is made up of very old plants. The first plantings date back to 1970. With a south-west/west exposure, this vineyard enjoys a beneficial temperature range between day and night, thanks to its location at about 300 metres above sea level. After vinification, for the necessary maturation phase, Ellena chooses small oak barrels, French barriques, where the wine is left to rest for about 30 months. The result is a red wine with a beautiful personality, with fine and elegant tannins. Perfect with meat dishes, excellent with mixed boiled meats or the classic “tajarin all’uovo”. It is the glass that can also accompany a nice evening of conversation with friends.
